잔을 가볍게 흔들면 1998년 가동을 멈춘 침묵 증류소 임페리얼 1994 24년의 옅은 황금빛이 잔 안쪽을 미끄러진다. 잔을 코끝에 가져가면 잘 익은 사과와 옅은 시리얼, 부드러운 꿀의 향이 차례로 인사한다. 한 모금을 머금으면 43.8%의 도수가 입안에서 잔잔히 풀려나가며 옅은 바닐라와 시트러스 껍질, 약간의 풀잎이 따라온다. 삼킨 뒤에도 잃어버린 스페이사이드 증류소의 섬세한 잔향이 입천장에 길게 머문다.
