잔을 몇 번 흔들고 코를 대면 카올 일라답게 중간 세기의 피트 연기와 버터, 갓 자른 사과와 귤 사이로 바닷바람과 신선한 굴 내음이 스친다. 한 모금 머금으면 53.8도의 매끈한 질감 위로 감초와 훈연, 과일 샐러드와 마지팬의 단맛이 번지다가 시간이 지날수록 잿내와 미네랄로 기운다. 1984년 증류해 27년을 보낸 이 개별 캐스크를 삼키면 마르고 깨끗한 피트의 온기가 길게 이어진다.
