잔을 흔들고 잠시 두었다가 코를 넣으면 훈제 소시지 같은 기름진 연기가 먼저 올라온다. 다시 향을 맡으면 커리 가루와 정향, 마른 흙냄새가 겹쳐 롱로우의 이탄이 향신료 쪽으로 기울어 있음을 보여준다. 한 모금 삼키면 56.9도의 열기가 혀 뒤쪽을 때리고 훈제 고기와 검은 후추가 묵직하게 입을 채운다. 잔을 내려놓아도 연기와 향신료가 목 안쪽에 오래 붙어 있다.
