캠벨타운 반도를 감싸는 눅눅한 바닷바람이 스프링뱅크 특유의 기름진 성격을 빚어낸다. 잔에는 오래 숙성된 깊은 황금빛이 가라앉아 있고, 1972년 증류해 서른 해를 넘긴 무게가 느껴진다. 코끝에는 바다 소금과 마른 건초, 옅은 그을음이 차례로 다가온다. 58도의 도수는 입안을 기름진 질감으로 채우며 호두와 낡은 가죽의 풍미를 끌어올린다. 여운에는 짭조름한 미네랄과 흙내가 오래 남아 천천히 사그라든다.
