Tasting Notes
옅은 화이트 와인빛이 잔 속에 맑게 고여 있다. 2007년에 병입된 이 1993년 원액은 버번 숙성을 마친 뒤 그르나슈 블랑 캐스크에서 마무리를 거쳤다. 코를 대면 재와 마른 풀의 서늘함이 먼저 오고 뒤이어 풍선껌 같은 단내와 시트러스가 섞여든다. 46도의 입안은 감초 나무와 쓴 약초의 결이 중심을 잡고 생강 토닉 같은 매운 청량함이 뒤를 따른다. 와인 캐스크의 단맛은 앞서지 않으며 여운은 퀴닌의 쌉쌀함으로 마르게 닫힌다.

it’s amazing how peaty whiskies are quicker to smell ‘mature’, the peat’s big aromas masking any faint ‘flaws’ that are obviously there in such young malts. So, this is pretty nice, ashy, quite bubblegummy (of course), grassy and slightly citrusy. Whiffs of cough syrup. Medium smokiness
restaurant Palate
once again and for the same reasons, this works better than the unpeated version, even if there’s something slightly strange (something like burnt herbs – oregano?). Liquorice wood, bitter herbs (Jägermeister), ginger tonic, even gin… That’s it, this is rather good gin!
