잔을 흔들면 잘 익은 복숭아 향이 대번에 잔 밖으로 넘쳐 나오고 뒤이어 해바라기유와 생버터의 부드러운 냄새가 따라붙는다. 코를 더 대면 배와 구스베리의 상큼함이 열린다. 한 모금을 머금으면 풀과 밀랍의 결이 먼저 잡히고 복숭아와 파인애플, 레몬의 산미가 소금기와 함께 지나간다. 1991년 원액을 버번 호그스헤드에서 재워 51.5도로 담은 이 위스키는 삼킨 뒤에도 과실이 길게 이어지다 계피와 흰 후추로 마무리된다.

the exact opposite of the official, this is one of the cleanest young Springbanks – and we know that Springbank can get magnificently dirty -, displaying bags and bags of ripe peaches. Plus peach syrup, peach gums, peach juice and peach jam. Yup! Also a little sunflower oil and maybe fresh butter. Just a little… With water: still peaches, also pears, gooseberries and other fresh fruits. Lovely, one of the most delicately fruity Springers I could nose
