Tasting Notes
잔을 흔들면 화이트와인처럼 옅은 빛 사이로 재 냄새가 먼저 새어 나온다. 코를 가져가면 이탄 연기와 풍선껌 같은 단내가 겹치고 풀과 감귤, 기침 시럽 같은 약초 향이 뒤따른다. 한 모금을 머금으면 감초 뿌리와 쓴 허브가 혀를 먼저 잡고 생강 토닉 같은 청량함이 그 위를 스친다. 1993년 원액을 호그스헤드에서 재워 46도로 담은 이 보틀링은 연기가 젊은 기운을 잘 덮는다. 삼킨 뒤에는 기나피 같은 쌉쌀함이 남는다.

it’s amazing how peaty whiskies are quicker to smell ‘mature’, the peat’s big aromas masking any faint ‘flaws’ that are obviously there in such young malts. So, this is pretty nice, ashy, quite bubblegummy (of course), grassy and slightly citrusy. Whiffs of cough syrup. Medium smokiness
restaurant Palate
once again and for the same reasons, this works better than the unpeated version, even if there’s something slightly strange (something like burnt herbs – oregano?). Liquorice wood, bitter herbs (Jägermeister), ginger tonic, even gin… That’s it, this is rather good gin!
