it does smell like an old sherried OB from that era, with that slightly sulphury edge that characterised quite a few of those bottlings, bringing us almost into Jamaican rum territory, though without the aromatic depth. But as we all know, just a few drops of water can turn things around entirely, so let’s do that... With water: truffle and cabbage soup push their way through, such a classic combo in these official sherried Springbanks from these vintages
