항구 도시 캠벨타운의 짭조름한 바닷바람과 석탄 연기의 기억은 스프링뱅크에 기름지고 복합적인 성격을 새겼다. 1996년 증류된 이 위스키는 셰리 버트에서 17년을 보내며 짙은 호박빛을 얻었다. 코에는 말린 과일과 가죽, 옅은 이탄과 바다 소금이 겹쳐 오른다. 54.2도의 힘은 입안에서 무화과와 견과, 기름진 훈연을 단단히 밀어 올린다. 캠벨타운다운 짠맛과 셰리의 단맛이 맞물려 여운은 향신료와 소금기로 길게 남는다.

it does smell like an old sherried OB from that era, with that slightly sulphury edge that characterised quite a few of those bottlings, bringing us almost into Jamaican rum territory, though without the aromatic depth. But as we all know, just a few drops of water can turn things around entirely, so let’s do that... With water: truffle and cabbage soup push their way through, such a classic combo in these official sherried Springbanks from these vintages
