노즈는 라가불린 1980 SMWS 111.1의 짙은 토탄 연기, 짠 해풍, 마른 보리 향이 가장 먼저 두드러진다. 15년 숙성에 63.3도라는 강도가 아일라 피티드 캐릭터를 단단하게 받친다. 팰럿은 훈제 베이컨, 짠 캐러멜, 검은 후추가 균형 있게 발전한다. 피니시는 토탄과 해풍이 길게 이어진다. 80년대 라가불린 SMWS 라인의 정밀한 골격이 명확히 드러난다.

exceptional indeed. Extremely elegant peat with dozens of sub-aromas such as leather, smoked ham, smoked tea, grapefruits, Seville oranges, wet rocks, flints, black pepper, bitter chocolate, seaweed, camphor… Smells much older. With water: becomes ‘tertiary’, with notes of pipe tobacco, patchouli, sandal wood and quite some fresh putty
