북부 하일랜드 크로마티 만에 자리한 인버고든은 거대한 컬럼 증류기에서 부드러운 그레인 위스키를 뽑아낸다. 1972년 증류해 버번 배럴에서 43년이라는 긴 세월을 보낸 이 위스키는 깊은 황금빛을 띤다. 오랜 숙성 덕에 향에서는 코코넛과 바닐라, 캐러멜이 진하게 올라오고 입에서는 49.9도가 부드러운 단맛과 오크 향신료를 매끄럽게 채운다. 여운에는 토피와 가벼운 향신료가 길게 이어진다.

it’s the most herbal of them all so far, with some tobacco, bitter herbs, cinnamon, mint oil, a wee bit of propolis, and then rather green lemons. This 1972 is much less ‘smooth’ than the 1973s, tenser, and in away, maltier. I have no quibbles with this

rather long, with bits of ginger and turmeric, and bitter oranges in the aftertaste
