잔을 가볍게 흔들면 1951년 빈티지의 시간이 깃든 짙은 마호가니빛이 잔 안쪽에 깊게 잠겨 있다. 잔에 코를 가까이 대면 달모어답게 리필 셰리 오크의 묵직한 건과일과 가죽 향이 가장 먼저 마중한다. 58년 시간이 빚어낸 두꺼운 셰리 단맛과 옅은 가구 광택제 노트가 따라 올라온다. 한 모금을 머금으면 45도 알코올이 부드럽게 풀려나가고 반세기를 넘긴 숙성의 깊이가 입천장을 깊게 덮는다. 무화과와 다크 초콜릿, 시나몬 스파이스가 또렷이 깃든다. 시리우스 디캔터답게 달모어의 클래식한 풍미가 그대로 비친다. 삼킨 뒤 따라가는 여운에서 가죽과 흑설탕 잔향이 길게 머문다.

first achievement, it’s not too winey. Second achievement, it’s pretty Dalmore-y, with some chocolate and some oranges. And then, it’s malty, with whiffs of Mars bar and a wee earthy/ferny side that’s rather pleasant. Perhaps does it rather go towards Cognac? Pleasant

no, this is very unusual. Seriously, it does taste like some kind of American craft whisky, flash-aged in very small barrels. And it’s pretty good, with some pumpernickel, gourd pips, sloe, cloves, ginger… It’s just not very Dalmore anymore. But funny it is

medium, on bitter chocolate, cigars, black tea, and green pepper and juniper. Some French oak involved, perhaps?
