잔을 흔들면 맥더프의 원액이 올로로소가 입힌 짙은 호박빛으로 잔 벽을 따라 흐른다. 코를 가져가면 올로로소 셰리 호그스헤드가 남긴 호두와 건포도, 가죽 향이 진하게 올라온다. 잔을 더 돌리면 졸인 과일과 옅은 향신료가 깊어진다. 한 모금 삼키면 58.5도의 술이 흑당의 단맛과 견과의 떫은맛을 혀에 펼친다. 삼킨 뒤에는 올로로소 특유의 묵직한 견과 여운이 길게 남는다.
