북부 하일랜드 테인의 글렌모렌지는 스코틀랜드에서 가장 키 큰 증류기로 맑고 섬세한 술을 빚어낸다. 퍼스트필 버번 배럴에서 13년을 보낸 위스키는 옅은 금빛을 띤다. 코에는 복숭아와 바닐라, 갓 벤 풀 향이 산뜻하게 솟고, 57.3도의 입에서는 시트러스와 보리 단맛, 크림 같은 부드러움이 또렷하게 번진다. 달큰한 과일과 꿀의 잔향이 길고 우아하게 이어진다.

starts on milk chocolate, milk chocolate, milk chocolate and… coffee, and develops more on rubbery/sulphury aromas. Strawberry jam and then something like corked wine (but it’s not exactly cork). Heavy notes of gunpowder as well. Not too much to my liking, but maybe water will help. With water: immense notes of nutmeg, parsley and green curry. Very unusual

how thick and heavy! Extremely concentrated, almost cloying… Quick, water. So, with water: it’s the tannins that shine through now, both from the wood and from the wine it seems. Better balanced, that is
