Tasting Notes
노즈에서는 글렌모렌지 특유의 산뜻한 감귤과 바닐라, 꽃향이 두드러지고 토피의 달콤함이 뒤를 받친다. 1995년 증류해 11년을 보낸 스카치 몰트 위스키 소사이어티 보틀링으로, 57.4도의 높은 도수가 또렷한 구조감을 세운다. 한 모금에는 버터스카치와 꿀, 잘 익은 복숭아의 단맛이 발전하며 물을 더하면 감귤과 크림이 펼쳐진다. 글렌모렌지 특유의 섬세함과 높은 도수가 균형을 잡는다. 피니시는 중간 이상으로 토피와 바닐라, 향신료가 깔끔하게 이어진다.

air Nose
powerful and youthful, starting on caramel, cooked butter and vanilla. It’s soon to get very grassy, vase water, hay. Whiffs of peat and rubber – the latter growing stronger and stronger. It gets very farmy at the same time, and then develops on lavender perfume, before it goes back to cooked butter and stays there. Nice, and much more complex than expected!
restaurant Palate
a very sweet, yet powerful attack, but it’s soon to get spirity, malty and grassy again, with lots of liquorice and cold infused tealeaves. Violet sweets, toffee, liquorice stick, cold strong coffee. Perhaps it lacks some complexity now, but I guess that isn’t the main purpose of a 10 yo malt bottled at 100 (UK) proof. The finish is long and bold, getting a little too bitter. I still like this now discontinued malt, hence my very good rating: 85 points . Glenmorangie ‘Traditional’ (57.2%, OB, circa 2004)
