Tasting Notes
잔을 코끝에 가져가면 마데이라와 건포도의 달큰함이 먼저 인사하고 곧이어 핑크 자몽의 산뜻한 산미가 스친다. 잔을 흔들어 향을 좇으면 초콜릿과 마른 나무, 옅은 짭짤함이 슬며시 겹친다. 하이랜드 글렌모렌지가 아메리칸 화이트 오크 1·2차 필 캐스크에서 10년을 채운 43도 오리지널이다. 한 모금을 머금으면 카라멜과 토피의 단맛에 태운 카라멜의 쌉쌀함이 뒤따른다. 삼킨 자리에 옅은 소금기 한 자락이 남아 다음 잔을 부른다.

quite strong Madeira, raisins, pink grapefruit. Rather nice at first nosing. Develops some funny notes of soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, apple juice. Quite enjoyable. Gets a little mat: chocolate, sawdust, cardboard…
restaurant Palate
starts on lots of caramel, sugar, sweet wine (young Banyuls). Gets quite toffeeish, burnt caramel, roasted beans. Medium long finish, with a pinch of salt on the tongue. Not bad at all, although I liked the sherry version better (much livelier). 79 points . Glenmorangie ‘Madeira Wood Finish’ (43%, OB, ‘stripe label’, circa 2004)
