노즈에서는 탈리스커다운 후추 같은 매콤함과 바닷바람의 짠내가 가장 먼저 두드러지고 옅은 피트 연기와 버번에서 온 바닐라가 또렷하게 드러난다. 19년 숙성의 팰럿은 그을린 보리와 꿀, 흰 후추가 만나 짭짤하면서도 단단한 구조감을 보인다. 45.9도의 도수는 자극 없이 정돈되어 스카이 증류소 특유의 해양적 풍미를 또렷하게 받쳐 준다. 피니시는 옅은 재와 후추, 해염으로 길게 이어지며, 1986년 빈티지 탈리스커가 지닌 매콤하고 정제된 해안 캐릭터가 분명하게 정리된다.

to tell you the truth, I do not find many differences between the Storm and the Dark Storm. The colour is darker, but the whisky’s similar. Maybe a little more pencil shavings? Bread crust? Tea? Oranges, perhaps?

same feelings. A little more body, thickness, spicy oak, also more spices, ginger, caraway… Cumin, pepper, aquavit… I think the Storm was better chiselled, but this is good, no doubt
