잔을 흔들어 향을 깨우면 어린 탈리스커답게 진한 피트보다 캐러웨이와 생강 같은 오크의 향신료가 먼저 올라온다. 코를 가까이 가져가면 옅은 훈연과 후추 아래로 마른 곡물의 향이 겹친다. 잔을 다시 기울여 맡으면 스카이 섬 특유의 옅은 소금기가 감돈다. 46도의 5년을 한 모금 머금으면 오크에서 온 쿠민과 생강의 매콤함이 혀를 자극한다. 한 모금을 더 오래 머금으면 오크 향신료 뒤로 옅은 연기가 감돈다. 삼키면 오크의 향신료가 목 안쪽에 길게 남으며 젊은 탈리스커의 개성을 드러낸다.
