스카이섬 카보스트, 거친 바다를 마주한 탈리스커는 후추를 닮은 매콤함과 짠 기운으로 이름난 증류소다. 더글러스 랭이 고른 2010년 빈티지는 잔에 밝은 금빛을 담는다. 코에는 옅은 피트 연기와 바다 소금, 레몬의 향이 어우러져 올라온다. 12년을 보낸 입안은 후추와 보리 단맛, 짭조름함이 묵직하게 번진다. 48.2도의 도수가 균형을 잡으며, 마무리는 매콤한 스모크와 소금기로 길게 이어진다.

it’s a lovely Talisker but with a more modern twist, that is to say, more influenced by wood, resins, sugars and spices. This often veers into resinous territory and in truth, that’s rather the case here, to the point it somewhat blankets the powerful distillate. Fir honey, liquorice, marmalade, marzipan and mussels in white wine. That we like
