하일랜드 남쪽 끝, 로먼드 산자락의 글렌고인은 느린 증류로 알려진 증류소다. 보기 드문 스코티시 오크에서 마무리한 16년 원액은 따뜻한 호박빛을 머금는다. 향은 잘 익은 사과와 토피, 가벼운 향신료가 둥글게 올라온다. 53.5도의 입안은 캐러멜과 말린 과일, 떫은 오크 탄닌이 단단하게 맞선다. 끝에서는 토피와 후추, 흙내음이 천천히 잦아든다.
