Tasting Notes
잔에 담긴 금빛은 조용하지만 안쪽에서 은은한 광택을 낸다. 처음에는 향이 좀처럼 열리지 않다가 이내 밀랍과 바니시, 벌집의 결이 순서대로 드러난다. 들꽃의 꿀 같은 단맛 뒤로 옅은 연기와 달아오른 구리의 금속감이 스친다. 셰리 리필 호그스헤드가 남긴 흔적은 요란하지 않고 단정하다. 입에서는 향보다 힘이 붙어 구운 빵의 가장자리와 졸인 과일 소스가 46도의 무게로 밀려온다. 마무리는 구운 것들의 고소함으로 길게 이어진다.

air Nose
rather discreet at first nosing but getting nicely fragrant, with quite some wax polish, varnish (good varnish ;-)), beeswax… Very delicate, in fact, not too expressive but quite refined and elegant. Notes of nectar, flowers from the fields, getting a little smoky and rubbery (new rubber band). Very nice, although there’s also some smells of hot metal (hot still?)
restaurant Palate
more powerful this time, quite rubbery again, with some burnt bread, overcooked fruit sauce. Nice, quite balanced and showing lots of oomph but not too complex. The finish is very nice, though, on all sorts of roasted things. In short, a very good one, very enjoyable. 87 points . Springbank NAS (46%, OB, House and Tree label, Germany, mid 1990’s)
