잔을 코끝에 가져가면 셰리 벗 숙성이라기엔 약재 향이 먼저 앞을 가로막는다. 호랑이 연고와 붕대, 요오드, 유칼립투스 기름이 차례로 밀려오고 그 아래에서 기름진 지방 냄새가 받쳐준다. 47도로 한 모금 머금으면 광물유와 밀랍 먹인 천, 바닷물, 절임 국물 같은 짠맛이 혀를 곧게 훑는다. 삼킨 다음에는 타르와 소금 감초, 그을음이 길게 이어진다. 감칠맛과 약재가 끝까지 손을 놓지 않는다.
