Tasting Notes
진한 호박빛이 잔 안에 짙게 비친다. 1959년 빈티지의 글렌피딕이 오크 캐스크에서 47년을 보낸 후 48.1도로 병입된 이 프라이빗 빈티지 보틀링은 거의 반세기에 가까운 시간을 또렷이 안고 있다. 향에서는 묵은 가죽과 말린 무화과, 가벼운 정향이 깊게 머문다. 입에 닿으면 부드러운 단맛과 묵은 종이, 옅은 후추가 입천장에 펼쳐진다. 48.1도의 도수가 자극 없이 긴 세월을 또렷이 전한다. 이 위스키 특유의 골격이 마지막 한 모금까지 흔들리지 않는다. 여운은 오래도록 머문다.

you do indeed get the impression there was a fair mix of ages involved. There's quite a few varieties of honey, brioche, crystallised citrus peels, candied hazelnuts, plum eau de vie, straw and linens. I find it a very attractive and easy nose
restaurant Palate
the ABV works well here as I find so often with OB Glenfiddichs that the measly bottling strengths hurt them. Here's there's an oiliness to the mouthfeel with impressions of malt syrup, bergamot, lanolin and green apple peelings which all works very well. Some lemon cough drops, farmhouse cider and a few crunchy cereals. Indeed, it feels almost like a more rustic style of Glenfiddich. Mind you, what's more rustic than a collapsed warehouse roof?
