Tasting Notes
잔을 코앞에서 천천히 돌리면 처음에는 조용하던 향이 밀랍과 니스, 꿀 같은 단내로 차례차례 열린다. 더 기다리면 들판의 풀꽃과 갓 뜯은 고무 밴드 같은 냄새가 겹쳐 오른다. 46도를 한 모금 삼키면 코보다 입이 훨씬 힘차게 반응해 그을린 빵 껍질과 졸인 과일의 맛이 혀를 눌러 온다. 마시고 난 뒤에는 셰리에 포트를 조금 얹은 이 보틀링답게 구운 곡물과 마른 과일 향이 함께 남아 금빛 여운을 그린다.

air Nose
rather discreet at first nosing but getting nicely fragrant, with quite some wax polish, varnish (good varnish ;-)), beeswax… Very delicate, in fact, not too expressive but quite refined and elegant. Notes of nectar, flowers from the fields, getting a little smoky and rubbery (new rubber band). Very nice, although there’s also some smells of hot metal (hot still?)
restaurant Palate
more powerful this time, quite rubbery again, with some burnt bread, overcooked fruit sauce. Nice, quite balanced and showing lots of oomph but not too complex. The finish is very nice, though, on all sorts of roasted things. In short, a very good one, very enjoyable. 87 points . Springbank NAS (46%, OB, House and Tree label, Germany, mid 1990’s)
