Tasting Notes
잔을 코끝에 가져가면 처음엔 향이 잘 열리지 않다가 곧 밀랍과 광택제, 벌집 같은 냄새가 차례로 피어오른다. 더 흔들면 들꽃과 꿀물 같은 단내가 나오고 그 끝에 고무와 뜨거운 금속 같은 기운이 스친다. 46도를 한 모금 머금으면 향보다 힘이 세게 들어와 태운 빵과 졸인 과일 소스 맛이 혀를 덮는다. 삼킨 뒤에는 셰리 아홉에 포트 하나를 섞은 배합답게 구운 향들이 겹쳐 남으며 금빛 여운이 길게 이어진다.

air Nose
rather discreet at first nosing but getting nicely fragrant, with quite some wax polish, varnish (good varnish ;-)), beeswax… Very delicate, in fact, not too expressive but quite refined and elegant. Notes of nectar, flowers from the fields, getting a little smoky and rubbery (new rubber band). Very nice, although there’s also some smells of hot metal (hot still?)
restaurant Palate
more powerful this time, quite rubbery again, with some burnt bread, overcooked fruit sauce. Nice, quite balanced and showing lots of oomph but not too complex. The finish is very nice, though, on all sorts of roasted things. In short, a very good one, very enjoyable. 87 points . Springbank NAS (46%, OB, House and Tree label, Germany, mid 1990’s)
